The Literacy Initiative project explores the opportunities and barriers for inviting more area Churches and their congregations to help lift the literacy (reading and writing) achievement levels of Central Arkansas’ kindergarten – 5th grade students. The background for the study dates back to the 1999 Marketing Insights Nehemiah Project study conducted to uncover Little Rock’s most pressing social needs.  The overview of this research project can be found below.
