The Nehemiah Network is pleased to be a part of the initial “reading at grade level” effort of the North Little Rock and Little Rock School Districts. “AR Kids Read” is a program that invites adult tutor volunteers into the elementary schools to work with students to provide one hour of reading homework assistance for students “in school” and consistent with each student’s current reading level. The goal is to provide assistance for students to be reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade in those school districts.

The AR Kids Read programs have been developed by the districts in partnership with the Nehemiah Network. Each district has approved their respective program approach with district administration, volunteer coordinators, district literacy coaches and elementary school principals for those schools in the initial programs.
